Just press ‘/’ and Google will return to the search box

Google has come up with a new search shortcut, which will help you to get faster search results. Users will now be able to go to the search box by simply pressing the “/” button on the search results page, and will be able to see the search results in a more detailed range.

According to a 9 to 5 Google report, Google is informing users of a new shortcut in a box in the lower left corner of the search results page.  The box is shown when you press any key on the search results page.

Using this shortcut will take the user straight to the search field, where a text cursor will appear next to the original search.  Google will also offer a wide range of suggestions that may relate to what the user is looking for.

For example, a user is looking for search results related to the Samsung Galaxy Ultra, as well as something new.  In that case, you can go to the search box again by pressing “/” and write about the new search and get new information.

9 to 5 Google reports that the feature will be a ‘tab accessibility shortcut’ in Google search.  Note that pressing the tab button on the results page brings all the links to the front, making it possible to open the webpage depending on the mouse, keyboard or trackpad.
