The iPhone 13 has yet to launch. But in the meantime, the practice of iPhone 14 series continues. Various information about the iPhone 14 series to be launched in 2022, is often coming to the fore. According to a new report, Apple is planning to upgrade the iPhone model camera in a big way in 2022.
The iPhone model is expected to come with a 48-megapixel image sensor that year. As Apple has lost interest in the Mini series, no mini model will be seen in the iPhone 14 series. The report states that Apple will say goodbye to the mini series in 2022. In that case, the iPhone 14 series will have only 6.1-inch base variant and 6.7-inch Pro variant.
According to a report by AppleInsider, Apple analyst Ming Shi Chi Kuo has predicted the next generation high-end iPhone 14 model. According to Kuo, the high-end iPhone 14 model will have a 1 / 1.3-inch 48-megapixel CMOS image sensor for the wide-angle camera module. Since it has a 48 megapixel sensor, Apple can support hybrid operating mode on the device. It may even have pixel binding support to maximize pixel size. Again the ability of the sensor to combine light can also be seen to be further enhanced.
“We believe that the new 2H22 iPhone model will support a direct output of 48 megapixels and a 12-megapixel (four-cell combined output mode) output,” Kuo said. The pixel size of the new 2H22 iPhone’s CMOS image sensor with a 12-megapixel output will increase to -2.5 microns, which is significantly larger than the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and existing Android smartphones, and closer to the DSC level. Note that the pixel size of the iPhone 12 will be 1.7 microns, and the pixel size of the iPhone 13 will be close to 2 microns.
Cuo added that, “the high-resolution sensor is expected to support 8K video recording. Now maximum 4K video can be shot on iPhone. In that case, there will be a big upgrade on the iPhone. Although the frame rate will not be mentioned in the report”.
